As we approach the fall season and the changing of the colors, join us to celebrate Sis. Tyesha Scott, our Member of the Month for September 2025.

It has been a pleasure to watch Sis. Tyesha grow and mature over the years. She is the proud mother of Deneim, loving  daughter of Sis. Carolyn Scott, and shared a close family relationship with the late Sis. Martha Sampson and her daughter BJ.

Currently, Sis. Tyesha is a District Public Education Information Systems Specialist for the Alvin Independent School District, with an enrollment of  30,000 students and over 1,500 staff members. Her responsibility is to handle attendance, enrollment and coordinate special programs for the district. Sis. Tyesha received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management  from the University of Phoenix and will begin pursuing her Master’s degree shortly.

Sis. Tyesha acknowledges that “God is the head of my life and the light unto my path. He leads me and guides me daily, teaching me that the relationships I build and make daily are to be filled with love and guidance from Him.” She is also grateful to have grown up at the Pleasant Grove Church under the leadership of the late Pastor, Dr. C. L .Jackson and our current Pastor, Dr. S. L. Jackson. She says, “Thank you, Pastor, for always providing me with the tools to becoming a great Christian.” She also gives a lot of credit and thanks to her mom for leading her to Christ and for being  her constant source of support and encouragement.

Sis. Tyesha assisted as a volunteer for most of Deneim’s little league playing days. Assisting players, coaches and parents with game day activities. She was a board member and served in the capacity of secretary and registrar for the organization. Now that Deneim is in  high school, she continues to support him and volunteers with the athletic booster club.

In her role as a volunteer, Sis. Tyesha says, “it allows me to be a role model for my son and all those I meet. Spreading the message that no matter the situation or circumstance, always keep God first in all you do, allowing Him to lead you and trusting that He will always make a way. As the late great Pastor C.L. has taught me, ‘If you are going to pray, don’t worry. If you are going to worry, don’t pray.’”

Sis. Tyesha sends love to her church family “for always being a home away from home.”

Let’s show Sis. Tyesha some love in the comments below and thank God for her journey, her faith and the impact she continues to make at work, volunteering and at church.
