This special evening commemorates the 63rd Anniversary of the historic March on Washington, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his iconic “I Have a Dream” speech.

⭐ Keynote Speaker: Charnele Brown, beloved actress best known as Kimberly Reese from NBC’s A Different World.

🎭 Syneetra A. Williams portrays Josephine Baker, the legendary entertainer and civil rights advocate who was the only woman officially scheduled to speak during the 1963 March on Washington.

🎬 We are especially proud that Pleasant Grove’s own Rob appears in the film, making this event an even more meaningful celebration for our church family.

Just Lena, written and produced by acclaimed playwright and filmmaker Vincent Victoria, is a powerful fictional dramatization inspired by the life, artistry, courage, and enduring legacy of Lena Horne. Filmed entirely in Houston, the production highlights themes of faith, perseverance, equality, artistic excellence, and social change.
