Weโ€™re delighted to honor Sis. Melanie Graves as Pleasant Grove MB Churchโ€™s Member of the Month! ๐Ÿ’–๐ŸŽ‰ Her journey has led her to new heights, and we couldnโ€™t be more proud of her recent achievements!

Sis. Melanie has relocated to Durham, North Carolina, where she has stepped into an exciting new role as the Multicultural Fellow in the Mental Health and Performance Psychology Program of the Sports Medicine Department at the University of North Carolina โ€“ Chapel Hill! ๐Ÿ…๐Ÿ“š

In her position, sheโ€™s making a tremendous impact by supporting the mental wellness of student athletes. Through developing innovative programs and providing therapeutic services, Sis. Melanie is helping students enhance their God-given abilities and overall well-being. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝโœจ

Reflecting on this amazing opportunity, she shared:
โ€œIt has always been my desire to work with student athletes at the collegiate level. I am thrilled to serve on this world-renowned campus and gain experience that I can bring back to Texas to support student athletes from underserved and underrepresented communities.โ€

Before this role, Sis. Melanie earned her Master of Social Work from Howard University and is currently working toward her associate social work license. Her dedication to learning, growth, and helping others is truly inspiring!

Although the transition has been challenging, she has found strength in her faith, the support of her department, and a fellow Sister of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ’œ

While sheโ€™s still on the lookout for a new church home, Sis. Melanie remains deeply connected to Pleasant Grove and expresses heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Dr. Sheldon L. Jackson, First Lady Sis. Glo Jackson, her mother Sis. Shirley Johnson, and the entire Pleasant Grove family for their unwavering encouragement and support.

She says, โ€œLove you all plenty too much!!!โ€ and looks forward to staying connected as she continues to blaze a trail in her field. ๐Ÿ”ฅ
