Member of the Month of May Sis. Kalyn Lindley Lethermon
We are a church comprised of members with diverse experiences and talents. At this mid-point of the year, we recognize a young lady who grew up at Pleasant Grove, got married, moved away and has now returned to fellowship with us during this new phase of her Christian journey.
Let me introduce to some and re-introduce to others, Sis. Kalyn Lindley Lethermon. The proud daughter of Trustee and Deacon, Bro. Douglas Lindley and Sis. Charmaine Lindley. Also, the granddaughter of Sis. Ever Ross. It seems like we have known Sis. Kalyn all her life and watched as she grew up in favor with God and man. She says, “I was raised in a Christian home and grew up deeply rooted in the love and truth of Jesus Christ. From a young age, I learned the power of prayer, the importance of grace, and the beauty of walking in faith. My relationship with the Lord continues to be the foundation of my life, and I give Him all the glory for His constant presence, provision, and favor over me and my family”
Sis. Kalyn earned her bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and works as a Child Protective Services (CPS) caseworker. She says, “that role opened my eyes and heart to the realities so many children and families face. I became passionate about advocating for those who are underserved, unseen, and unheard. That passion led me to pursue my Master of Social Work. Each day I continue to grow in both knowledge and compassion to better serve others through a Christ-centered lens”
She is the lovely wife of Treyvonn Lethermon, who currently serves in the military, and a mother to T.J. who brings so much joy and purpose to her life. Sis. Kalyn acknowledges that life as a military spouse comes with many challenges; frequent moves, long periods of separation, and the emotional weight of raising a son while the spouse serves abroad. The uncertainty can be overwhelming at times, but it has also strengthened her faith in God and shown her how to be resilient. She has learned to lean not on her own understanding, but to fully trust in God’s perfect timing and plan.
She says, “My faith is my anchor, and my family is my greatest blessing. Through every deployment, every relocation, and every tear-filled goodbye, I have witnessed the Lord’s faithfulness. He has provided strength when I felt weak, community when I felt alone, and peace in the midst of chaos. Everything I do; whether as a student, a professional, a wife, or a mother; is grounded in my desire to honor God and reflect His love to those around me.”
Sis. Kalyn is grateful for the many lessons taught at Pleasant Grove by the late Pastor, Dr. C. L. Jackson and our current Pastor, Dr. S. L. Jackson. These sermons provide strength, guidance and comfort as she navigates this season of her life. The verse that uplifts her daily is Psalm 46:5, “God is in the midst of her, she shall not be moved. God shall help her and that right early.” It is a constant reminder that no matter what season she’s in, the Lord is her strength, and with Him, she will not be shaken.
Let’s show Sis. Kalyn some love and support in the comments below and keep her lifted up in our prayers.
