This month the spotlight is on Sis. Shaqueena Harvey: a wife, mother and professional businesswoman.

Sis. Shaqueena has been a member of Pleasant Grove since the age of two. She accepted Christ as her Savior at the age of twelve and began serving on the Junior Usher Board with her brother. She also sang in the Little Folks Choir and is currently a member of the Mass Choir and a missionary sister. Sis. Shaqueena is blessed to worship alongside her father, Associate Pastor Anthony Hamilton Sr., her mother, Lawanda Hamilton, her brother Anthony Hamilton Jr. and her sister, Jada Hamilton.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Houston, Sis. Shaqueena began working in property management and has since led teams of accountants and operational professionals with dedication and integrity. She currently serves as an Accounting Manager in the property management industry, where she’s built a rewarding 10-year career. She says, “I am continually grateful for the evidence of God’s hand in every part of my life. I stand firmly on His promises and the unshakable foundation laid by the late Pastor, Dr. C.L. Jackson and blessed to see it still carried forward by Pastor, Dr. Sheldon L. Jackson. I treasure the importance of attending church—because it is there, I draw strength, courage, and confidence.”

Outside of the church and her professional career, Sis. Shaqueena is deeply devoted to her family. She is the wife of Bro. Brad Harvey Sr. and the mother of Brad Jr. and Savanna. She is raising her children to love and serve God. Both Brad Jr. and Savanna sing in the Little Folks Choir.

Sis. Shaqueena is an active member of the community. She has been a part of a woman’s ministry, Kingdom Inside Me Ministries, a non-profit organization which mentors and supports women to fulfill their purpose, for the past 5 years. She is also a volunteer with Houston Children’s Charity which produces events such as the annual Toys for Tots drive and backpack distribution to schoolchildren. Sis. Shaqueena and her colleagues donate and lend their services to the Food Bank. Her desire to serve is empowered by Phil.1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.”

Thanksgiving and praise are in her heart for the fact that she was taught to know, “who I am and Whose I am” and is passing on that same principle to her children.

Let’s show Sis. Shaqueena some love as she raises the next generation and mentors others. Keep her lifted up in your prayers.
