Member of the month- Deacon David Vasser II

This month we continue to spotlight our young people who are making a mark and leaving their footprints in the church and in our community.

Deacon David is a teacher at Twin Creeks Middle School in Spring ISD. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History with a minor in Sociology. He continued his education and has also earned a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership. Deacon David is currently teaching 8 th grade Science. He says, “Science reinforces and supports my faith in God by showing the intricacies in God’s creation of the earth and all the living and non-living things that support life”.

In his role as an educator, Deacon David is passionate about shaping the minds and hearts of the next generation, instilling in them not only knowledge but also a strong sense of faith and values. Deacon David’s influence extends beyond the classroom, he also coaches track and football. His desire is to lead by example, demonstrating how to live out
one’s faith daily.

As a husband and father, Deacon David draws strength from the godly principles taught by the late Pastor, Dr. C. L. Jackson and our present Pastor, Dr. S. L. Jackson. He is supported by his lovely wife, Ashley. They have been married for 13 years and have three children, David III (Tre), Ashton and Ashlynn.

Deacon David is active at Pleasant Grove and serves as a deacon. We see his pleasant smile and helpfulness on Sunday mornings. He gives thanks for his spiritual steadfastness, to the “unwavering faith and commitment” shown by his parents, Rev. David Vasser Sr., Associate Minister and Sis. Katie Vasser. His parents have been dedicated, hard-working and loyal members of Pleasant Grove for a very long time. Deacon David also gives credit to the late Sis. Marva Humber, who was a great contributor and supporter of the church. He says that her influence while he attended Loving Care Daycare “played a significant role in nurturing my understanding of God’s Word.” Deacon David and family worship alongside his sisters, Sis. Angie Vasser-Bolden and Sis. Davida Allen.

As Deacon David continues his spiritual and professional journey rooted in faith, family, love and education he says, “My favorite passage of scripture is Psalms 23:4. Our late Pastor, Dr. C.L. Jackson and our current Pastor, Dr. S. L. Jackson have taught me God’s Word, which instilled the core values that have shaped my faith and character.”
Let’s show Deacon David some love and support in the comments below and keep him lifted up in our prayers.
